Surprises Bad and Good.
This is not against B&B, just general problems I’ve
encountered!
With a few good surprises mixed in.
As of 1-4-2007
So
far, most of the build has gone very well, but I want to give an honest assessment
of the whole process. Any one of these problems may have been partly my fault
for not asking or not researching beforehand. I want to stress that I am very
satisfied with the whole process (so far) and would, and may do it again when I
finish. The below list is surprises that I have had (and will be adding to) and
want the person contemplating a build to be aware of before hand and ask the
appropriate questions. Also, eventually, I will try to post any resolutions to
these problems outside of the normal build pages. Email me if you think that any
of these are out of line and I’ll reconsider listing them. I have been known to
be a little picky from time to time.
1. NUMBER ONE, a decent manual. With a little common sense, help from
B&B and Club Cobra people, this can be overcome!
2. Some of the parts listed in
their literature were not included.
·
E-brake handle (I did call them and they did
send me, at no charge, a E-brake handle but told me that this is no longer a
part of the kit.)
·
Brake lines.
3. Lame E-brake mounting point.
4. Some parts that should be
included (in my opinion) are not
included.
·
Fasteners
(Bolts and nuts).
·
Switches
(no dash toggle switches).
·
Rear
battery relocate kit.
·
Electric
radiator fan.
·
Seat
belts.
5. Large spaces between the
firewall fiberglass section and the frame to which it is mounted.
6. The interior kit that I
received is sub-par. The carpet in the trunk pieces look good, but the front
parts do not match and are rough cut pieces without a (yes again) E-brake cover
sewn in like I have been informed that others from B&B have had and as
pictured in their flier.
7. The flimsy, fragile, weak, insubstantial
lever on the door latch. This is not B&Bs doing, but seems to be standard
issue from
